We had a great time in Northern Ireland, catching up with old friends, Phil and Jill, and their boys, Chris and Alex. We knew these guys in London back in the 80s. We flew to Belfast from Liverpool John Lennon Airport yesterday, and stayed overnight at their home in Portadown.
With Phil and Jill, we toured Antriim and Belfast, and stopped at Hillsborough Fort, where the Anglo-Irish Agreement of 1985 was signed. I tried my first Guinness in Ireland in the nearby Hillside Pub, and am pleased to say that Guinness in Ireland is considerably better than elsewhere. We also saw the famous Astro Park in Armagh.
Today, we visited the town of Enniskillen in the west of the province, before crossing the border into the Republic of Ireland.
