Mind your language

While we were in Wales, I would always try pronouncing the words on Welsh signs. I would ask Jean what this or that meant, and she would tell me. And she would laugh at my pronunciation. Here in Germany, the opposite is the case; Jean now puts the same questions to me. But Jean grew up with Welsh, and has a better command of it than I do German. But I haven’t done too badly since I’ve been here.
